For the most part, scabicides are prescribed to eliminate the mites that cause scabies. These medications are highly effective, but they happen to come with several side effects, which may be harmful for the unborn baby.

Usually, permethrin or pyrethrin is prescribed to pregnant women. As compared to the other heavy scabies medications, these medications are not absorbed by the body. Do not skip the doses and try to keep up with the schedule. You must change your clothing and bedding regularly. Your linens must be washed with hot water. Buy or rent a steam cleaner to clean upholstered furniture. If you continue to experience the symptoms of scabies, it would be best to take another round of medications.
