For businesses that either manufacture equipment with a pressure gauge, or repair equipment that uses them, there is a good way to do that.
Put your logo and or phone number on the face of the meter.
For OEMs; most often the instruments are viewed by your customers constantly as they use your equipment. You can take advantage of this by doing two things with the pressure gauge. First, make the color and font scheme match the rest of the signage on your equipment.
Have you ever gone to the dentist and seen his air setup up? Almost without exception, in the middle of a sleek looking piece of equipment is a dial that does not fit the package and sticks out like a sore thumb. Usually the instrument is a standard, industrial product that advertises the Acme Pressure Gauge Co., not the OEM of the equipment.
Instead, they could have a gauge that blends with their equipment; the benefits of which are three fold.
First, the overall curb appeal of your product will increase as the entire package looks like one planned piece of equipment. Second by putting your name on the gauge, it is one more time your customer will see your company name, bringing you deeper brand penetration and brand loyalty. Third, when your customers buy spares, they will almost certainly go to you for them rather than a local supply house, adding directly to your profits.
For companies that repair equipment with pressure measurement devices, the benefits are even more direct and immediate. Let me illustrate with two examples: Compressor repair and maintenance companies and swimming pool repair firms.
For compressor repair companies, your customers have a meter on the compressor that is likely old and in need of replacement. When you do routine maintenance on your customers compressor, it is a good practice to replace that gauge annually. If you replace it with a gauge with your company name and phone number, the benefits are many. First, you will make a profit selling the gauge (as presumably you do now) second, you will make a profit on the labor, lastly, your company name and phone number is right on their compressor. Every time they walk by the compressor, they see your company name and phone number. This is tremendous branding of your company at that account. Most important of all, with your name and phone number on their compressor, they are most likely to call you for future repairs (88% of the time)! They are also more like (39% more) to purchase a new compressor from you, either a replacement to the one you serviced, or a new one elsewhere in the customers physical plant.
In the swimming pool repair business, this is also true. Not only can you make 500 to 1000% gross margin selling the gauge, your company information is right at your customers equipment. If they have a break down on their motor or a clogged earth filter, you are 75% more likely to get that business than without your name and logo present. You are also 44% more likely to get the business on larger repairs like resurfacing the pool.
These two industries illustrate the benefits of putting your logo on pressure instruments your repair, but there are dozens more. If you repair, hydraulic equipment, pressure washers, pumps, pest control equipment or any other equipment that has a pressure gauge on it, you can also reap these benefits.
In summary, whether you build or repair equipment, getting your name in front of your customer will help drive future business to you. An easy and free way to do it is to put your name and logo on the pressure gauges.
