Another reason for acne breakout could be your genes. People with family members who have had acne are more likely to have the same problem.

Wash Your Skin

Surely we can't change genetics, but some simple measures can help us prevent acne. A good cleansing routine goes a long way in preventing acne. However, do not be under the impression that acne is caused due to dirty skin. Wash your skin regularly, as that would help clear up the pores. Use a wash cloth to exfoliate your skin. Those who have an oily face need to wash their face atleast twice daily. After cleaning the face, apply 2% salicyclic acid solution or oxy pads to remove excessive dead skins from the pores.

In order to prevent acne, it is very important to wash after exercising. Sweat can clog the pores and lead to acne. Wash your face and neck thoroughly after cooking as while cooking, your skin is exposed to heat and oil and this can clog the pores.


Oil Free Cosmetics

Apply an oil-free moisturizer and sunscreen lotion before you step out. A sunburned skin is more prone to acne breakouts. Women who use makeup need to make sure that their cosmetics are oil free. Avoid cosmetics that contain lanolins, isopropyl, myristate, sodium lauryl sulphate, laureth-4 and D & C red dyes. It is best to use lotions and makeup that are marked as noncomedogenic, which means that they will not clog your pores. And never go to bed with makeup on.

Other Helpful Measures

Those who suffer from chest or back acne must avoid wearing tight clothes, as that usually worsens the problem. It is also important to leave your pimples alone. Never squeeze or pop them. This will cause scars and in many cases worsen the acne problem.

Regular exercising can help prevent acne. Exercising increases blood circulation and oxygen penetration to the skin; furthermore, it also helps reduce stress. This in return helps in preventing acne.

Remember to wash your pillowcase regularly. Always use clean face towels. Dirty pillowcases and face towels harbor bacteria and germs that will make your acne worse.
