Preventing and Treating Wrinkles
Wrinkles under or around the eyes are one of the biggest beauty problems facing women
as they get older and many would like to know how to avoid them for as long as possible.
The skin around the eyes is some of the thinnest and most sensitive anywhere on the body, and so can suffer damage before thicker skin elsewhere.
The best solution is prevention by protecting this delicate skin from the harmful agents in the environment, of which the main one is sunlight. Puffiness of the skin under the eyes can be due to inadequate sleep and/or a build up of toxins in the local lymph nodes. A healthy diet and lifestyle can help avoid this, but there are some good face masks you can use to reduce swelling and puffiness
Crows feet or laughter lines are often the first lines to appear around the eyes, and, since you cannot go through life without laughing you must accept them to a degree. The preventive measures previously discussed will have helped, but such lines can be reduced by use of gentle eye wrinkle removal creams containing glycolic acid or AHA.
You should be careful what you use to get rid of any wrinkles under eyes, and beware of chemicals that can cause more harm than good. Some chemicals can irritate your skin and set it up to actually age faster, or to develop problems like redness or flaking.
Much cheaper and more natural remedies for the skin around the eyes are the use of cotton wool pads soaked in orange juice which will help firm up the skin if applied and left for ten minutes before rinsing off, or the application of a couple of slices of cucumber for half an hour. After these treatments you can follow up with a moisturizing cream application or even just a little olive oil. Many face creams are derived from natural ingredients, and the people of the Mediterranean countries have been applying olive oil to their face and hair for centuries.
