Determining whether weevils have infested a home is pretty simple. Their larvae are a silky thread that can be seen inside cupboards or around food containers. A most effective way of making your home weevil-free is to keep them from coming in. This can be done in a number of ways. All those food items that you think you are not going to use for a while should be moved to the freezer. Last, but not the least, maintain hygiene. Make sure that the kitchen, pantry and all kitchen appliances are kept clean.

To deal with weevil infestation, the first thing you need to do is throw away all packaged food, especially if it has been opened. Wipe all nooks and corners of the kitchen and pantry. Once wiped, thoroughly vacuum the area. You may also use a number of insecticides to kill these pantry moths.

Weevils, or pantry moths, can cause a nuisance in homes. Home owners need to take all possible prevention and eradication measures to keep these tiny creatures at bay.
