Preventive Measures For Stress
Stress is a natural response which was created by nature to help us out in time of trouble
. Stress can be good or bad depending on the situation. Stress is the human body preparing itself to deal with a potentially dangerous situation by increasing the production of hormones such as cortisone and adrenaline. These two hormones serve to heighten situational awareness and increase strength so that you will be able to perform at a higher level of physical strength and mental sensitivity to deal with the dangerous situation.
Stress is not good when it is lasts for a long period of time. Prolonged stress is detrimental to the psyche, mind, and body. The human body is not designed to endure prolonged stress.
If we want to eliminate the effects of stress we need to avoid the situations which cause it if at all possible. Most times we can do so, but there may be times when we cant. Some of the situations which we may have to avoid in order to not get into stressful situations may be on the job stress. This is not always possible but you should make every effort to avoid them. There are people who enjoy using their power to make others uncomfortable and you should stay away from these people at all costs, but sometimes the situation wont lend itself to you being able to make an escape. If this is the case you will have to learn how to not be intimidated by these people. Many times when they see that you are not intimidated by their tirades they will leave you alone.
Avoid situations which will place you in physical danger. You know the areas in your city or town that you need to stay away from. You also know the situations that you need to stay out of in order to avoid physical danger and most people do. I dont need to say much is this area, but it does need to be mentioned.
Many times stress is caused by financial problems so the best thing that you can do here is to learn how to be fiscally responsible. Sometimes things happen which you have no control over so you need to learn how to adapt to rough situations and to extract yourself from them as soon as possible.
Avoid negative people or people who like to argue. Dont talk to them in person or on the phone. Whenever you see them go the other way. If they corner you in a conversation get away as soon as possible. There is no reason whatsoever that you should allow other people to make your life miserable. Dont worry about hurting their feelings, worry more about saving your own.
Now on the other hand you can avoid stress by learning to delegate responsibilities to subordinates. You cant do everything so dont try. Learn how to choose the best people for the responsibilities that you have and delegate accordingly. This will save you tons of worry and stress if you use it.
Also learn how to be organized. This will help you tremendously. Do not let unorganized people slow you down or cause you to become stressed. Plan your day and execute your plan.
If you are not assertive you may have to learn to be so. People will break you in two if you let them. You have to learn how to not let others burden you with the load that they themselves should rightfully carry.
Get plenty of physical exercise and eat the right foods. Your body needs both nutrition and work. You need to give it plenty of both.
Most of all LOVE someone. It is a proven fact that people who love someone live longer than those who dont. Learn how to love. Love someone who loves you back. You will be surprised at the different outlook that it gives you on life.
