Insist on Window Cleaners Trained and Certified

Every window-cleaning contractor in the Chicago area will tell you that their window cleaners are trained professionals. At Program One, we believe that "documentation is the key to proving you are as good as you say you are". This is why all of our window cleaners are required to study the material and take the tests necessary to become certified by the IWCA. The IWCA (International Window Cleaning Association) is a non-profit trade association committed to raising the standards of professionalism and safety within the window cleaning industry. Oscar Bravo recently passed his final exam while the IWCA was in town for a safety seminar at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. Oscar is now one of the 12 certified window cleaners employed by Program One. Congratulations Oscar!

Program One's safety director, Jason Konieczny, gets SPRAT certified. The Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) based in the United States, is dedicated to promoting the safe development of industrial rope access standards in the US, Canada, Mexico and beyond. Jason's SPRAT training included the proper use of the latest safety equipment as well as rescue techniques that are vital to employees that perform suspended work. Program One is the only local window cleaning company that participated in the rigorous 40-hour training program in January 2011.

Although we have our own in house safety and training program, we depend on training by outside organizations like SPRAT, IWCA and OSHA to assure our window cleaners receive the best training possible. When hiring a window cleaner, make sure that they can PROVE that their employees have received proper training.Jason's SPRAT training included the proper use of the latest safety equipment as well as rescue techniques that are vital to employees that perform suspended work. ANSI and OSHA(Photo 3)

ANSI and OSHA require all roof anchors for suspended work to be certified every 10 years. Program One worked along side ECS (a local engineering firm) to certify over 60 roof top anchor points on the Sara Lee building in Downers Grove in January.
