Promotional sweets are an inexpensive and small gift that can be given out without too much fear of them being pilfered by passers by, however more expensive items can be given sparingly (such as watches, sunglasses etc.).

An idea would be to have two or three types of promotional gifts on your stand. This may seem a little extreme, however if you want to get the right sort of result and create a lasting impression - then positioning the right sort of gifts is highly advised.

Try (where possible) to get your gifts related to your business. So if you are an automotive company, then give away small toy cars, or mugs in a car shape. If you are a lighting company, perhaps a nice promotional torch.

Promotional gifts for events are very important and can either make or break the event for you. The reason is that once the client leaves your stand (or you finish your conversation) they forget. It normally only takes a few minutes for people to forget and the hard work (no matter how long you were talking) will all have been in vain once they walk away.
