Pros and Cons of Living in a Four-Season State

Most people in the northern and Midwest states love the fact that they get to experience four different seasons in one year. There is a small majority however, that hate the colder months and cant wait till they are old enough to get that winter home down in Panama City, Florida. In my opinion, why would anyone want to move to a state where its hot all the time and the necessity of a sweater is unnecessary? I guess if youve been cold your whole life, a southern state can be quite a nice change.
I go personally go back and forth with my love for living in a four-season state.
PRO: Because theres a fall, winter, summer, and spring I can wear skirts, flip flops jeans, cardigans, sweaters, boots, jackets all year. If I lived in San Diego, I wouldnt have the pleasure of buying winter scarves!
CON: Cold weather is such a mood killer. Lots of us Midwesterners experience what they call seasonal depression.. less outdoor activities and more time on
bar stools trying to stay warm.
PRO: Sometimes the snow is so bad school is cancelled!
CON: Driving in snow sucks, you have to leave 30 minutes earlier and keep an eye out for white-outs. Roads often have to be redone with the seasons.
PRO: Winter and summer sports, boating, skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling all in one year!
CON: In the winter the days are too short, I hate getting out of work and its pitch dark.
PRO: Summer is only here for a few months so tons of activities are packed into this season. I love outdoor musical festivals that last a week!
CON: Sometimes it feels like we skipped fall and went right into winter.
PRO: Raking leaves is very fun, and jumping in them is a trip when youre young.
CON: Health related behaviors such as sinuses, breathing, and exercising tend to drastically fluctuate because of the fast temperature changes and weather conditions. People with asthma find it harder to breathe on very hot summer days as well as on very cold winter nights. People with a poor metabolism find it much harder to stay on a healthy diet routine because of shorter days, seasonal depression, and ice covered trails. Not to mention swift weather changes bring about coughs and sneezing.
PRO: Beautiful landscapes, autumn colors in the fall, snowy hills in the winter, flowers sprouting in the spring. With four seasons you can have a garden and grow your own vegetables.
CON: Crops can easily get ruined in certain months however, making it harder for farmers in the winter states. PRO: Some find it nice to hibernate all winter and become overly active during summer. It's a nice change of pace to switch things up by the season.
