You can also buy great timers that will switch on an electrical appliance like a TV, radio or lamp at set times to make it appear like someone is home. Finally, an alarm system is a great option when it comes to deterrents and also peace of mind. If the alarm does happen to be set off, there are now programs which will send you a text message to alert you of the situation.
