Punica Granatum or pomegranate is actually a shrub with many stems which usually grows about 6-15 feet tall. The lean branches of this shrub start growing in upright and then bow down a little. This shrub has attractive orange-red colored, trumpet shaped flowers which have ruffled petals. These flowers are around 2 inches long and are grown in summer. The fruit of this shrub which is known as pomegranate is of 2-3 inches diameter with globe shape and has a glossy yellowish green or reddish color. It has seeds which are juicy which are enclosed with a non edible membrane skin.
