Quit Smoking: A Beginner's Guide
With today's technology, there are many ways to quit smoking
. They range in a variety so wide that it's astounding. There are free methods, and guaranteed methods that come with a price. There are patches, pills, and inhalers. If you really want to quit smoking, there's a method just for you out there, it just takes a little searching.
One of the hardest but most effective ways to quit smoking is called quitting cold turkey. The secret to this is to throw away those cigarettes, and keep them out of your site. It will be a challenge, but if you stay away from cigarettes all together, there's no way to have a smoke.
Another way to go about quitting smoking is a Nicotine patch. These are both discreet and simple. A patch is a sticky piece of clear plastic that you can stick somewhere that nobody will ever know. Depending on the patch you change it daily or weekly. They range in price and brand and can be found at almost any major chain store with a pharmacy. They can cost anywhere from $20 to $200.
Other options when quitting smoking are Nicotine gum or Nicotine lozenges. While neither is exactly candy, they both provide nicotine to your body without the tar and other chemicals that cause cancer. The gum has been improved vastly over the past ten years, and now comes in a few flavors including orange and mint. The lozenge has a light mint flavor, or no added flavoring at all. Both are fairly inexpensive compared to other stop-smoking methods, and run anywhere from $20 to $60.
One of the more expensive, more effective options is a Nicotine inhaler. These are harder to get a hold of, and often require a prescription. However, thousands of people have claimed success with this method. A nicotine inhaler is like an electronic cigarette without the cancer causing chemicals. They come in close to thirty flavors and are easy to maintain. A nicotine inhaler comes with disposable cartridges, so you always get a fresh smoke. They also come in a variety of nicotine levels. This means that you can start with a high level and slowly wean yourself off by lowering the dosage.
No matter how you do it, quitting smoking is a good choice. There are options out there for everyone. It may not be easy, but new technology is making it more doable everyday.
