Most people who decide to stop smoking need some sort of motivation, the biggest motivation has to be for yourself nobody can do this for you. Besides it being good for your health it is good for your bank balance as well, people spend a fortune on cigarettes, you may as well just flush your money down the toilet for what good smoking does for you. The problem is that smoking becomes an habit, most smokers will light a cigarette up, smoke it and think, I did not need that. Remembering when I quit, I would dream about smoking for three months after stopping, waking up I could have swore that I could taste the nicotine, My taste buds started to get better and I could now taste my food, this caused another problem, I put on weight. When quitting I done it the hard way, cold turkey, using no alternatives, my craving was so bad at times that I could have easily given in and lit one up. However, I did not give in, my only motivation that I used was my own health. For many this will just not work and they have to use outside help, like joining a club where other members help each other. There are clubs available on the internet as well, these clubs will help many who decide to quit. Just like an athlete, boxer or other sportsman will tell you, support makes them stronger. If you decide to quit and you are having a difficult day with cravings then another friendly club member will help you over this hurdle. Another good way is to tell yourself this, I have quit for one day so I can stop for another then when you have quit for a week tell yourself you have stopped for one week you can quit for another and keep this going. Eventually you will be stopping smoking for a month or even a year, the time soon passes. Nicotine replacement products are plentiful today and they can certainly be a great help to many people and have worked for lots of people. The problem with nicotine replacement products is that some of us can become dependent on them as well. The idea of these replacements is to slowly wean you off nicotine and when used correctly they are a very good remedy. There is a huge selection of these type of items now and include. Inhalers, Patches, Chewing Gum, Tablets, Lozenges and even Nasal Sprays. Hypnotherapy can also work where other attempts have failed, a good hypnotherapy expert can explain to you what they will do to help. Using hypnosis to stop smoking is not for everybody, what works for one may not work for another.
