Sexual intercourse is not prohibited in Ramadan between husband and wife but only in the state of fasting.

All believers are expected to fast during this blessed month of Ramadan and this is where when it comes to Ramadan and its rewards millions gather to collect the blessings to feast upon. However, fast is an obligation but not to those who are sick, women sick or pregnant and minors and people who have missed fasting should make up to the count for missed days.

What can be eaten during the hours when there is no fasting?

The restriction to Eat, Drink and one's sexual desires with his/her lawful partner is for the day time when you are fasting which lat from dawn to dusk and after opening your fast you are allowed to commence the life as normal but remember there are special Taraweeh prayers and other rituals for the month of Ramadan.

How should we foreigners behave during Ramadan?

Muslims are said to be tolerant towards other religions and openly understand that foreigners are not obliged to fast during this month and this is where you are to know that simple modesty and respect will make it even better as you may think that one person eating in front of a fasting person would give a negative impression.
