Currently the snooze button is standard at full 9 minutes, which is enough to make everyone wake up slowly from a deep sleep.

Once digital clocks have been introduced in the market, the radio alarm clocks became popular as well. The main difference now is the fact that you no longer have to wake up at the shrill noise of the clock but you can be lulled out from your sleep by any music of your favorite radio station either in FM or AM mode.

Along with the already popular snooze function, there is now also a sleep function integrated which allows people to listen to music, news or their favorite radio program before they fall asleep. Then the radio automatically goes to sleep after a couple of minutes. It can have a default of one hour or even less, depending in the settings selected by the person.

While the radio version is way improved over the regular digital one, there are some issues that are constantly ironed out by the developers and manufacturers. For example sometimes the radio is no longer tuned or the tuned gets out of synch, in which case the person wakes up at funny and annoying noises. This has been sorted out with the introduction of the new generation of DAB digital alarm clocks which enable the person to select which station to be the active one so this way they will wake up at that particular station at all times.

Nowadays radio alarm clocks have more and more features and improvements added over the original versions, and as the technology constantly evolves, so do the clocks with every new version that they are brought into life.

However, while these are great for the majority of the population, there are people with hearing problems that need a hearing impaired alarm clock instead. The vibrating alarm clock is perfect for any person who either cannot hear the sounds of the alarm or doesn't want to wake up their partners or children too early in the morning.
