The Ranger is related to the Assassin in type. Rangers deal primarily in bow damage dealing, making them great for ranged attacks. Rangers are able to hit mage targets even behind tanks, being that they are able to hit across a distance. This puts them at a level almost equal to the Assassin (aside from the fact that the Assassin is able to go invisible).

The biggest positive to this class is the massive amount of damage it is able to deal to enemies. It is a very beneficial class to have whether you are dealing with PvE or PvP. The biggest draw-back from this class is the lack of defense. Much like the Assassin, the damage this class is able to sustain is very little compared to classes such as the tank.

Something to consider when dealing with Rangers is that they can dual wield swords or daggers just as Assassins can. In fact, there are many Ranger skills that rely on swords, but their primary focus is on the bows. This does, however, make the Ranger very versatile because they can not only attack from a distance, but can also melee enemies that are near them!

Along with this, the Ranger is great at doing "Crowd Control." This means slowing down enemies or doing other things to keep them from following their own plans. Using a bow, there is a skill called Hamstring Shot that will greatly benefit you because it shoots your target in the foot, slowing their movement.

The most solid strategy when playing as a Ranger is to kite mobs or players. To do this, you attack and run, attack and run, and keep doing that. As you do this more and more you will get better at it and learn the timing of your attacks so you can better determine when to stop to toss out another arrow or skill. Learning how to kite is one of the most important lessons of the Ranger because without kiting you will have more issues soloing. In groups, kiting is not a big issue because you will just be assisting the "Main Assist," unless that is you and in which case you will be picking the targets for everyone.

It is also recommended that you obtain a sword. The Rangers do have many sword skills, making it important to own one. This is also greatly helpful when mobs or players get within range of you, since swords have a faster attack rate than bows. A good strategy for playing this class is to start off with Hamstring Shot, when you get it. This skill slows down your enemy by shooting them in the foot. That makes this skill invaluable to you. After that, you will just want to keep running and kiting your enemy. If you do notice, however, that you are unable to outrun your enemy for some reason, stop and start attacking them with a sword. Although your goal is to kite when possible, allowing an enemy to keep attacking you while you try to run is doing no better than just standing there and fighting them directly. In fact, it is more hurtful because of the weapon speeds (swords being faster).
