Lots of people shy away from using video in their internet marketing but those who do stand out from the crowd. I knew early on in that I wanted to use video in my online business. The main reasons for this were.

A more personal approach. If you walk into a shop to look around, any store worth its salt will have trained its staff to assist you make a purchase. Part of that training will include simple things like smiling, asking the right questions and the ability to make you feel like buying something. In my local supermarket I noticed a change in the staff a few months ago, every time I went through the checkout the assistant would start a conversation about one of the items I was purchasing. They engaged me in a meaningful conversation and enhanced my shopping experience, affirming me as the customer about the purchase choices I had made.

Build trust. We are constantly make decisions (even though often subconsciously) about whether we like someone or trust him or her or not. This has a huge impact on our decisions regarding purchasing things, particularly higher priced items. Think about it, which are the salespeople we have least trust for? Estate agents and car salesmen of course! People are naturally suspicious of online sales particularly; it's hard to see exactly what you are getting for your money. So video really helps the buyer connect with you so you can sell your product successfully.

Can be more compelling. Let's face it reading sales copy can be tedious. With video you are more likely to hold the attention of you customer for longer. Even if they do wander off to read emails or look at other pages they might well leave your video clip running in the background and listen to it while they look at other things. Because it's more personal as we discussed earlier, you are also able to tell your story and keep the buyers attention.

When i was looking for someone to help me get my internet marketing business off the ground, video played a big part in my decision about whom I would go with. It helped me ascertain quite quickly whether the person selling the training I wanted was someone I could relate to and trust. This gave me the confidence to go ahead and buy their training products. I also know the power of using video in my internet marketing.
