You will come across packaging boxes pretty much every single day of your life
. Whether it is the box that your new microwave comes in, a cereal box or a shoe box, you may not notice how much they are actually used. The majority of the time, once the contents of the box are emptied then the it is just thrown into the bin. However, if you start to re-use or properly recycle them, then you will be doing your little bit to help the planet.
Depending on the size of the package, you could use it for a variety of different things. Larger containers are ideal to use when you need to put things into storage or are moving home. You can clearly label them so that you know what is in each one and it makes finding things a lot easier. Smaller sized ones such as a shoe box can be the perfect place to put things in to keep in a wardrobe or under your bed. You can fill them with cd's or little keepsakes and it helps to keep everything together.
Alternatively you could let your children make something using them. The wide variety of shapes and sizes that they can come in can make them come in extremely useful for when you child wants to bring out their craft based imagination. With a lot of them being made out of cardboard, they can be very simple to paint or stick together.
If you are not going to re-use any of you packaging boxes then you should at least make sure that they are disposed of properly so that they will be recycled. Simply ripping them up and sticking them in with the rest of your regular rubbish will mean that they will just be wasted. You should make sure that you collect them all together and then either put them in your own recycling bin or take them somewhere to be recycled. Whatever you end up doing with them, re-using or recycling means that you are at least doing something to help the environment.
