The red eyed frog are arboreal animals i.e. they inhabit in tall shrubs / plants. This rainforest animal has developed iconic status among rainforest animals because of their look. It has large red eyes popping out of tiny leafy green body. Green colour which entirely camouflages them contributes to their defence strategy. They hide among the leaves and catch preys like insects with their sticky tongues. They sleep during day time while being stuck to the bottom of large leaves. There is a myth about these frogs that they are poisonous in nature. The male frogs grow up to 2 to 2 inches in size while the females get slightly larger at 2 to 3 inches.

Diet and nutrition

Red Eyed frogs are nocturnal carnivores. These rainforest animals eat anything that it can fit into its mouth, which can be another frog. These frogs love to eat and they eat until they become obese. These frogs love to be fed on crickets during all life stages. Make sure that the food you provide them is not too big to fit into their mouths while some adult frogs also feed on a variety of worms as well. Certain foods that is not suitable for the frog while some provides them with great nutritional value.

Habitat

Enclosures should be designed according to the pets needs. The more suitable the enclosure, the happier and healthier your pet will be. A lot of efforts are put into designing the right enclosure for them and it is a very time consuming process. The aquarium built for them should be as tall as practically possible. The enclosure must be 15 gallons for adult frog. Proper humidity management and screen openings should be made available. They can survive at temperatures ranging from 60-90f degrees. Put some artificial or real plants in their habitat on which they can climb and play.

Soil and Water

Like humans water is an essential component for the frogs to survive. Make some running water pools, falls and streams in the aquarium. They need to bathe and soak themselves in water at night. Place a bowl filled with water and some smooth stones in the aquarium. Running water also manages humidity levels. Cover the floor of the aquarium with soil. It enhances the look and holds moisture for extended periods.

Cleanliness

Keep the enclosure clean and tidy. Change substrate in time so that mould doesnt grow. Wash off and clean the tank using bleach. They are simple to maintain. Provide them with proper lightening inside their cage.
