Registering for DLL

DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library

DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library. Like its name, it works like a library with small files of executable applications that can be used with Microsoft Windows operating systems. The functions can be accessed through static or dynamic links. The DLL can use several applications concurrently. While some are provided with Windows, others need to be loaded into the registry so that you can access its particular application.

There are basically two ways to how to register DLL. One is to go through Window's registry which is called self registry, while the other is to manually register. The former is the easier method of the two.

Fir self register, you do not actually need to do anything. Some DLL files are already programmed to be able to store themselves into the Window's operating system's registry. Thus, the process is automatic and you can access into them when you need to.

How to register DLL manually is not that difficult either. What you need to do is to turn on your computer, which would actually launch your Windows operating system. Only after it has fully loaded, click Start on the task bar, and then of its options, click Run. The run box will ask you to type a name of a program or document in which it can open. You will need to type in the blank field the command to register for the DLL file. The command is as follows: regsvr32 "FileName.dll" . In that command, the words "FileName" should be the designated name you will be giving, for example, the file name will be designated the name "example", so the command should read: regsvr32 "example.dll" . Yet, you will need to include the actual location from where the file is located, so the command would read like such: regsvr32 "C:WindowsSystem32example.dll" . After completing the typing in the command, press Enter. You will be registered into DLL and will receive a pop up confirmation box that lists your newly registered DLL file, stating that the file has been registered into the registry successfully.
