Remedy for your iPad problems
Facing problems with your iPad? After all, iPad too has its share of bad days, like all computers and mobile devices do. Let's look at some of the most common problems faced by iPad users, figure out what's wrong with it and find a solution for your problem.
Well, what can I say? iPad may be a great device but occasionally it can go wrong too. In most cases, the remedy resides within the iPad's Setting page itself. However, there are also limits to what we can do. For problems such as hardware defects, you need to send your iPad back to Apple for repair or replacement.
With the following tips, tricks and solutions, your iPad will be up and running in no time.
Wi-Fi connection problems
The most common problem encountered by iPad users are poor Wi-Fi connection, weak signal strength, fluctuating signal and variable Wi-Fi speeds. This occurs mainly because iPad's Wi-Fi range is more limited compared to most notebooks and mobile devices. If that's the case, moving closer to the router's coverage area might help.
But if your connection gets dropped repeatedly, try changing channels on your wireless network to use 2.4 and 5GHz channels with the least interference.
You can also try renewing the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) lease. Go to the Wi-Fi setting page on iPad, choose your preferred network and click on the Renew Lease button to refresh the connection with the route.

If it doesn't help, try using static IP address instead of DHCP. A good rule of a thumb would be to pick a IP address at the top of the router's range to avoid conflicts with DHCP IP addresses. In the Settings page, click on Static and enter the address in the IP Address field.

Charging issues
The iPad is a power hungry beast. It requires a high-powered USB port to charge. The problem is that many USB hubs, smaller notebooks and even some desktop's USB ports are not powerful enough to charge the iPad while the screen is on. The battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen shows Not Charging rather than the "+" symbol inside the battery.
Not charging
The remedy for this problem is quite simple actually. For faster charging, you can use the A/C power adapter that came with your iPad and plug in directly to the main power supply. Otherwise, you can put your iPad into sleep mode before connecting it to the USB port. This way, even lower-powered USB ports will be able to charge it, albeit slowly.
Touchscreen freeze problem
Every now and then, for no particular reason, your iPad might freeze and stop responding to touch. Mostly, it is caused by a software problem. There are three things you can do to fix this problem.
Close the application by pressing the Home button. The system will return to the Home Page
If that doesn't help, try soft reset by pressing Sleep/Wake button for five seconds until Power Off slider appears. Drag the slider with your finger to shut your iPad down. When it's off, press the Sleep/Wake button to start it up again, without the offending app running.
If that doesn't help either, it is time to restart the system and start fresh. Press the Sleep/Wake button along with the Home button. The screen will go dark, and then the Apple logo will appear. Hopefully it runs fine when the iPad is restarted.

As you can see, lot of these problems are not too serious actually. As with any new device, you should be expecting some bugs on the first version. However, the next generation of iPad has to be better, stronger, and less buggy.
