For years, the next best alternative has been satellite TV, but many rural residents turned up their noses at it for various reasons. Those who haven't taken a look at the services offered by satellite in a while, however, might want to give it another gander. When reexamining how the home entertainment industry has changed, it might just make rural residents change their minds about what they initially thought of satellite TV!

In the past, many people ruled out satellite TV as an option because they thought of it as expensive, a lesser service than cable television anyway, and an eyesore to have on the lawn. Today, none of these things applies! With affordable packages including many more top features and services than cable TV for the same price, everyone is within reach of top home entertainment. With hundreds of channels and thousands of programs on every day, there is always a show, movie, music, or other type of entertainment to catch. Even if you're not around to watch it, today DVR can record anything you miss, making your entertainment at home perfectly catered to your tastes, or distastes should that be the case in censoring for families with young children. Finally, the dish today is a tiny little piece of hardware that is hardly noticeable at all! A far cry from the monstrous lawn-eaters of the 1980s, it's time to get hip to what's going on in the world of home entertainment today!

Many people in remote areas have always thought if I just wait a little longer, cable TV will come to me.' Now, they are likely waiting on cable TV AND the internet! Last mile services to rural and remote areas have been long awaited, but have never come. If this has happened to you, it's time to support services and providers that are really trying to reach out to rural and remote communities like many of those in Tennessee, and not those who have turned up their noses in favor of dollar signs! Wired technologies are not likely to increase in popularity anytime soon, meaning that wireless technologies like satellite TV are the way to go for rural and remote home entertainment!
