Renault Pulse Petrol Launched At Rs 4.25 Lakh
Renault India without any hullabaloo launched the petrol version of its premium hatchback
Renault Pulse at starting price of Rs 4.25 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The Renault Pulse petrol is powered with a 1.2 litre three cylinder petrol mill that pumps out 56 PS of power. This is the same engine that powers Nissan Micra too. Since pulse is a rebadged version of Nissan Micra therefore it is not surprising that both the hatchback share the same powertrain. The diesel variant was launched earlier this year at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi.
Renault has launched the pulse petrol in three trim levels, the base variant, RxE is priced at Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi), while the RxL model comes with a price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi) and the top end variant RxZ is available at Rs 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The base variant is equipped with a driver airbag, air conditioning and power steering; on the other hand the RxL model sports power windows and music system apart from the features that come in base model. The top end version RxZ features ABS, dual airbags, automatic climate control, push button start and automatically retracting electric wing mirrors too along with the other features.
Renault Pulse petrol will gun straight against the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo. All these hatchbacks are offered in both petrol and diesel guise and have been present in the domestic market for quite some time now. Bookings for Pulse petrol is open now at the Renault Indian dealerships, with the introduction of the petrol version, Renault expects to see a slight surge in the demand of Pulse.
On the price front, the hatchback is a little overpriced when compared to its rivals, however amongst the hatchbacks mentioned above the new i20 is priced more than Pulse petrol.
Lets have a look at the prices of these small cars, Ford Figo petrol price starts at Rs 3.81 lakh, while the Maruti Swift hatch is available at Rs 4.44 lakh. Hyundai India recently launched the upgraded version of i20, named the new gen i20 which comes with a price tag of Rs 4.73 lakh and Volkswagens Polo hatch is offered at Rs 4.57lakh (all prices mentioned ex-showroom price).
