According to Google software engineer, small and growing businesses can do a number of things to ensure their search engine marketing strategy provides an excellent return on investment - including creating SEO services optimised content that contains quality information and avoiding direct competition with huge firms by using niche search engine optimisation and a slightly different keyword selection.

Speaking at an event held at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce last week, he noted that fast loading websites are also a key factor in the success of both a business's website optimisation strategy and its wider, non-digital success.

Google software engineer was reported by the Irish Times as saying: "If you want to get a reputation, start small, expand in your niche." He used the example of a small firm competing in the mobile phone sector, noting that no matter how good an SEO agency the firm appointed, garnering a global reputation would be an uphill struggle. SEO consultant suggeted that using more localised, long-tail keywords could help the situation somewhat, with a firm ranking highly for a phrase such as 'iPhones in London' or 'mobile phones in London' or 'seo services uk' being more effective than those trying to top Google's search engine results pages for iPhone or 'mobile phones' or SEO.

Following the incorporation of website loading times into Google's search algorithms, having a fast efficient website is not just beneficial to a firm's overall search engine marketing strategy, but to its overall bottom line. And faster sites don't just improve user experience; recent data shows that improving site speed also reduces operating costs.
