Resolving error: An Inconsistency Was Encountered.. Bkf Error

Windows operating system boasts of a popular backup utility named NTBackup

. It allows you to take backup of your data using a bkf file format. You can store this bkf file on any other storage medium such as CD, Floppy, etc. But, some users prefer to store the backup in two different sets on multiple storage mediums and restore the data from both the sets of backup at a time. However, if any set of the bkf file is corrupt, then the restoration process cannot be completed. In such a situation, you need to repair BKF file using a third-party file repair application to retrieve the data from the corrupted bkf file.

Suppose, you created a bkf file using NTBackup utility and the backup data is stored in two different backup sets on separate storage medium. In this case, when you try to restore the data from the bkf file you get the following error message:

You can use any of the following measures to resolve the issue:

Try to select one backup set a time to restore the data.

If any or both sets of bkf file are corrupt, then it is recommended to repair bkf file using a BKF repair software. It is advised to select an applications that can scan and repair the bkf file completely. Also, ensure that the tool does not overwrite the original data of the bkf file and is easy to use.
