Tell your ex that you're fine with the decision. Say it with a confident smile, and walk away. Don't look back, don't try to contact your ex, and don't seem interested to make your ex return. This way you get the upper hand, and you're the one ditching the person rather than your ex. They'll end up wondering why you don't miss them, and want to get back with you.
