The Comet CM-C06CD 6 sheet cross cut paper shredder is an excellent little machine

. It is one of the highest rated small paper shredders and is perfect for home use. When compared to other top paper shredders of similar sizes, it is proven to be a solid and effective machine. However, like all machines it comes with its pros and cons.

Pros: Like the comparable Homedics Black & Decker 6-Sheet Crosscut Shredder, the Comet CM-C06CD is an ultra quiet machine. You will not have to worry about talking over the shredding sounds, because the library quiet shredders will barely be noticeable at all. The cross cut blades are made from durable steel materials that are high quality and long lasting. Having a cross cut blade is a positive attribute. They will not only shred the important documents into strips, but will also shred them into pieces that are only about one inch long, which is smaller than the competition. The Homedics Black & Decker 6-Sheet Crosscut Shredder only shreds them down to about two inch long strips. The Comet CM-C06CD provides you with the ultimate protection. Not only does this machine shred paper, but it also shreds credit cards, CD/DVDs and can cut through staples and paper clips. The waste basket can hold up to 4.5 gallons, which is larger than the comparable Royal Machines CX66 6-Sheet Cross Cut Shredder and also reduces the frequency of emptying the basket. The small size makes it perfect for home use, or small office use.

Cons: If you compare it to other 6 sheet cross-cut shredders on the market, you will notice a few small flaws. One being the weight of the machine. Royal Machines CX66 comes in at just over one lb, whereas the Comet CM-C06CD weighs 15 lbs. Not really ideal if you want to store the cross cut shredder and take it out when needed. However, it does come with a handle to help make mobility a little easier. The only other con that comes with this machine is the lack of caster wheels. The wheels would have wiped out the weight because rolling the machine to its location would have been effortless.

Overall when compared to the competition, the Comet CM-C06CD is an excellent paper shredder. It is made of durable materials, is a compact size and have a heavy duty motor that is extremely quiet. It is the perfect machine for home use and will provide you with the protection that you need.
