It is also due to human fascination with the concept of mystery and the human mind's willingness to believe something which sounds amazing, mysterious or non-explainable.

People love to solve a puzzle or riddle as it means exercise of their brain and engagement of mind. A puzzle, a kind of riddle, is also popular all over the world. People who come up with the right guess in a riddle are considered intelligent, as it shows that their mind works faster and the person is able to think laterally. As intelligent people are considered better, there has been various tests to measure the level of intelligence. Intelligence quotient (IQ) tests are a measurement of the intelligence of a person. Though no test has been considered perfect in truly measuring the level of human intelligence. Many people use riddles to casually guess the smartness of a person.
