RoadMap To Success

I took a road trip back in April to Atlanta, Ga to see my coach and mentor Larry

Beacham and 3 other top internet marketers speak about each of their specialties, Facebook, Blogging, LinkedIn, and Drop Cards. Now I had my doubts about going to the event but when I first heard about the event my coach made a statement about making decisions not based on your current circumstances, but about your future and where you want to be. And being I have visited Atlanta before and was familiar with the area, I decided to go as my previous trips were to go just for fun but this time I was going for knowledge and education on how to forward my business.

So I made the decision to go even though it meant I had to struggle to go and sell a few things but I made the trip as it was the most important thing to me. Now how and where the event was, was my next question. That's where technology comes into play. It's possible to go anywhere with today's latest technology with this thing called a GPS. Maps are how we got around before the internet and GPS systems. But I opted to get a GPS from the rental car company for the additional $10 fee just to make the trip easier as I had done before.

I've gotten lost on my first trip down there took me almost 12 hours the first trip on what should have been an 8 hour trip. But each time thereafter became easier as I learned my way. I still don't know my way around the city but I know more than I did that first trip. Why did I get lost before, well because I've never been to the city didn't have any idea on what to look for streets or buildings or anything to give me and idea on where I was at. I didn't have a vision or a final destination in mind on where I wanted to go. But eventually I found my way and now it's a lot easier for me to get there and with the GPS even easier to get around the city itself.

Now what does a simple road trip have to with network marketing? Well a lot of people go from company to company, and have no vision or a final destination in mind. The way they are taught is making lists of friends and family, talking to anyone and everyone about their business who may or may not be qualified, and buying marketing tools such as business cards, dvds and magazines and passing them out randomly. Most don't know how to get from point A to point B. In this case point A is joining a business and point B is the residual income that you're promised. There is no system in place just random activity with no direction.

What's missing in the plan is no GPS or navigation system. Not everyone wants to join your business or buy your service or product and most of the time is spent chasing people. That's not how you build a business. That's how most people are taught to market their business. So what you need is a roadmap to your success and a system in place on how to get there to that final destination and you must also have a vision of what you want.

If you have a system in place you can attract the leads that want to join your business, are looking for a business opportunityand a way to better their life, and even want to join your company. If you had a GPS type system to generate the leads you want than you will no longer have to chase after people and can also to begin to generate the income that you want.

You want a system that operates just like a GPS navigation. When you use the GPS it gives you different routes to take just in case something is not right about your planned route. A system will give you different strategies that you don't have to master all at once and it's up to you to choose the best one that works for you. If one route doesn't work try another one. The beauty of the system is you can customize it to fit what works for you. You have a variety of ways to pick but the key is to focus on one. Otherwise you will be lost like how I was on my first road trip to Atlanta for 12 hours. And you may get lost as well but over time you will find what works for you.
