Robert Downey Jr Confirms Gravity

Alfonso Cuarn, the Mexican film maker and producer has come up with a new project

. Alfonso Cuarn is an academy award nominee best known for films like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Rumour mills have been talking about this project called Gravity for a few months now, but recently a spate of confirmations have shed light on the film and the probable actors and their roles in this film. Gravity is said to be a space based science fiction film about a group of space travelers, who are a mix of engineers, astronauts etc who head into space to fix the hubble telescope. The film is going to be shot in 3D, the shooting of which is slated to start in London this summer.

Robert Downey Junior recently confirmed at an Iron Man 2 press conference that he has become involved in this new project that is yet to take off. Sources had previously spoken about Angelina Jolie playing the lead. But later the script apparently was changed completely to accommodate Robert Downey Jr as the lead. Fresh sources though say that as per the script both roles existed from the beginning and that Angelina Jolie plays a female medical engineer while Robert Downey Jr would enact the role of an overtly talkative veteran astronaut, both part of a special crew of space travelers on a mission in space.

The film revolves around a plot where the crew is asked to abandon their mission due to a space avalanche of sorts which was apparently triggered by the Russians, whereby all the satellites are forced to crash towards earth. Their journey back home forms the rest of the plot. Presumably their quick return to earth is prevented by several factors like lack of communication between them and earth and will provide for thrilling action entertainment. Gravity will be a science fiction entertainer no less from renowned names in the industry and it will be interesting to see how this thriller keeps the audience occupied as the lead pair escape an imminent disaster on screen.
