SC2: The Ultimate Zerg Strategy Guide
Starcraft 2 Guide
Starcraft 2 Guide
Starcraft has left a great legacy in the gaming world. It became the best real-time strategy game of all time, owing to its complexity and intricacies in its possibilities of game play. One could go to length just discussing the many possible actions of each race. Its success led Blizzard to release the second installment after 13 long years. The sequel's, Starcraft 2, graphics have been buffed up and the elaborate game play of the first installment is still there. Nevertheless, excited Starcraft 2 players now have to strategize more because the sequel to the legendary RTS game is more exciting and challenging. Here is a short Starcraft 2 strategy guide for each race:
Zerg Strategy
The Zerg race is the master of agility and going through infrastructure walls by enemies. Zergling, those agile little insects, can be hoarded and rushed to the enemy base early in the game. Called the Zergling Rush strategy, there many ways to pull it off but it should be done very quickly. The basic idea of the strategy is not to create any new drones but to immediately build a Spawning Pool once the mineral hits 200. While the pool construction is ongoing the Zerg player creates an overlord and one or two drones. When the Spawning Pool is ready the player then spawns a horde of zergling and immediately sending them to the enemy base. Because the economy is quite slowed down early in the game, the Zergling Rush is a do-or-die strategy. This is a very tricky mission, and if it fails the Zerg player loses the game.
Terran Strategy
The Terran is considered the hardest and least dynamic race to play with. But despite its lack of possible innovation in game play, this 26th century humankind is a powerful and formidable opponent if played well. But the best thing about Terran is its ability to build a legion of ground units in the shortest time possible. One popular strategy, the 'MMM', is creating a battalion of Marines, Marauders and Medivacs. It is inexpensive, easy to use and can boost the chances of winning. The idea here is to mass produce those three units in early game and immediately send them off to the enemy base. Because of the MMM's sheer number, the opponent is overwhelmed. The faster the player is in macro and micro, the more effective this strategy will be.Protoss Strategy
Protoss Strategy
The Protoss is the Psi energy-based and most technologically advanced race. One of the advantages of this alien race is that one probe can warp in many buildings without having to create more. Because of this, the Protoss race can be able to make advanced units already even in the early stages of the game. A very quick strategy is to pump the economy early and quickly build a Warp Gate, a Cybernetics Core a Robotics Facility and a Robotics Core in that order. The player will immediately be able to procure Immortals and Colossus. Because these are very powerful units, the Protoss player will be able to boost the chances of winning.
