Social networking has evolved over the past few months

, primarily from the online status updates and sharing the URL for a more mobile check-in service, where users are now sharing more about yourself and your life than ever before. Services, such as Foursquare, Gowalla, and others are now enables users to share where they are and what they do in real time with friends and the rest of the world.

SCVNGR offers fresh and innovative take on the traditional check-in services. With the added ability to complete a nice challenge for all of your favorite places, I think SCVNGR has the ability to really take off, and is a fun new way to interact with the environment.

Over 550 firms are currently paying customers SCVNGR including museums, universities and companies who use it for things like tours, directions and team-building exercises.

Not for scavenger hunts? SCVNGR has a more traditional check-in, and the ability to snap and post pictures and write a quick little blurb about the location. There really is something for everyone. SCVNGR can be found for free at Android Market. Some users report that SCVNGR is not available in the Android 1.6 or below, so for now I will say this only available on Android 2.0 +.
