Most common type is the knee push where the knee is placed against the side and pressed to lower the side. It is quiet and simple.

In foot bar type drop side cribs, the user balances on one foot and pushes a lever to drop the sides of the crib. The type is not much in use these days.

Double Trigger side cribs require the user to use both hands to squeeze the triggers. It is safer but handling becomes difficulty while holding the baby.

Drop Gate type is easy to use. However, the fold should be high enough so that the baby does not climb over it.
