Traditional dental implant procedures could take months to complete. With the addition of the Galileos Implant technology by Sirona, Dr. Covington is able complete a dental implant procedure on the same day. During a planning appointment, Dr. Covington takes a 360-degree scan of the patient's mouth and jaw in a few minutes. These 3-D images are used to create a dental model and develop the necessary dental surgical stents for the implant procedure.
At the implant appointment, Dr. Covington uses the surgical stents to precisely place the dental implant posts. A temporary crown is placed over the implant post allowing the patient to leave the office with a new smile. When the implants have fused to the bone properly, Dr. Covington will place the permanent crowns.
