I recently purchased the samsung blu ray home theater (samsung ht bd1250) as a result of it had the aptitude of streaming blockbuster, netflix, and pandora (youtube is included, too, however i am undecided why you'd wish to look at youtube on your tv...). i used to be told after I purchased the system that the streaming capabilities needed the samsung wireless adapter (this product), that was not in stock in stores, however can be purchased on-line. It seems one in all the few places on-line that also has these (new or used) is Amazon! I purchased a second hand adapter for ~$5 underneath retail. different sites that said they'd it really did not or wished to sell it for well on top of retail.

Anyways, the adapter came with a cap (for the USB plug) and a L-adapter thus rather than sticking straight out of the rear of your samsung device, it will stick 'up'. It's essentially a rather larger version of ordinary USB wireless adapters for computers and such. **Note** - Samsung devices don't work with different USB wireless adapters!

I plugged the adapter /w the L-adapter into the rear of my samsung device, turned it on and visited the menu, selected my home network, encryption (WEP), and password, and it worked /w no problems. I actually have an AT&T Uverse wireless router and are putting in home networks for a dozen years thus this half was pretty simple to me. staring at the manual for my samsung device, the directions matched what I required to try to to to line up the adapter. I live in a very rowhouse, thus my wireless router is on the ground 2 stories on top of my adapter, that is within a lower cupboard of my wood entertainment center. fully no problems with signal or uptime.

For the samsung ht bd1250, it will automatically head to the menu with choices to pick a streaming service if a disc isn't inserted (if a disc is inserted, it will auto-load thus you will have to attend till it masses and then stop the player to come back to the menu). If you decide on a service, it will then initialize the wireless adapter and it always solely takes a number of seconds to attach. Once the progress screen is completed, you'll be able to then choose the service you want and then it jumps in.

I've had the adapter for a couple of month and that i primarily use the netflix service. With the exception of 1 movie where it stopped streaming each 15m and kept resetting my movie position, it works simply still, if not higher, than my home theater laptop that is attached to my TV. the standard varies counting on the supply, however it's usually near DVD quality (w/o any type of upscale). I actually have not tried to stream an HD movie through Blockbuster (don't suppose netflix has the option) thus i can not inquire into whether or not that works still.
