San Diego Padres - A Team That Has Great Prospects

Baseball is quite a popular sport in America. Each state in America is known to have there very own baseball team. California is one state in America that is known to have more than one team representing their state. The teams that we are going to focus on today are the San Diego Padres. The San Diego Padres are quite a popular team amongst many in the states. They are currently known to be playing for the National West Division League.

In comparison to the other baseball team that represents the state of California, the San Diego Padres have not done as well as they could. The San Diego Padres joined the major baseball league in the year 1969. Even though they have been around for a number of years, they have only been able to win a minimum number of titles. Looking at past records, the San Diego Padres won the National League pennant in the years 1984 and 1998, which equates to twice.

As most other baseball teams in the league, the San Diego Padres are also known to have four different uniforms. Out of these four, two of them are used more commonly which are; home uniform and away uniform. The other two uniforms are occasionally used if the circumstances require so. These uniforms are referred to as alternative one and alternative two. The home uniform for the San Diego Padres is known to be made of two main colors; navy blue and white. The socks and cap are navy blue in color where as the remainder is white.

The away kit on the other hand is only different in one aspect that the shirt and trousers are sand color. The away kit has the word "San Diego" written across the jersey, where as for the home kit the word "Padres" is used instead.

The cap for all the kits is the same. The cap insignia is quite popular for the San Diego Padres as it is by which the fans recognize the team. The cap insignia has the two letters "S" and "D" intertwined amongst one another. The letters themselves are white with the surrounding cap being blue giving it a nice contrast.

The team logo for the San Diego Padres is quite more graphically detailed in comparison to most other state baseball teams. The colors used for the logo include all the colors of the kit which are navy blue, white and sand. The logo is an upside down house shape. The word "San Diego" is written in the top right hand corner of the logo in sand color in small font. The logo is mainly occupied by the large word "Padres" that runs across the foundation of the logo itself.

The current manager of the San Diego Padres is known as Bud Black. The owners of the San Diego Padres include John Moores, Troy Aikman and the Jeff Moorad Group. There has been quite a lot of speculation in recent months that the owners of the team might change due to a poor performance display.
