Sanjiv Nanda

Sanjiv Nanda is Senior Director with Corporate Research and Development at Qualcomm. He is currently project engineer (lead) of the femtocell systems engineering program. The program addresses systems engineering issues including: self configuration, interference management and mobility management, to enable the widespread and rapid deployment of femtocells. The program also provides high level design support for the Qualcomm femtocell chipset products.

At Qualcomm, Sanjeev Nanda has previously worked on systems engineering and standardization of fixed mobile convergence, 3G WiFi interworking, and MIMO WLAN (802.11n). In addition, Sanjeev Nanda has contributed to programs in cellular and wireless MAC design, cognitive radio and wireless networking. In 2008, Sanjeev Nanda was recognized by Corporate R&D for distinguished contributions to mentoring and incubating new programs, as well as management of the internship program and recruitment.

During 2001-2002 Sanjiv Nanda was director of systems engineering at Narad Networks, designing switched Ethernet backhaul over hybrid fiber coax networks. Prior to Narad, he spent ten years with the Performance Analysis Department at Bell Laboratories, working on many aspects of cellular system design, including system architecture, protocol design, system performance and link performance. During 1989-90, as post-doc with David Goodman at Rutgers University, Sanjiv Nanda supported the founding and early success of WINLAB.

Sanjeev Nanda is a Senior Member of the IEEE, has may journal and magazine publications, and has been granted 48 US patents in the areas of wireless MAC, wireless link layer, as well as wireless and cellular networking.

Sanjiv Nanda received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from RPI.
