Satellite Tv Its Never Boring

Ask most subscribers to Satellite programming providers what they think of the services

they receive and the answer is almost always the same: I like them.

Its no wonder that they enjoy the services. As is probably true for subscribers to Cable TV and for Direct TV, as well, Satellite TV (or Dish Network) subscribers enjoy access to virtually unlimited programming options. It wasnt always that way, of course.

When TV began appearing in the homes of Americans in the late 1940s, choices for viewers were extremely limited and, in fact, programming did not run around the clock. Test patterns replaced entertainment every evening, usually around 11 P.M. Its true. In the early years of TV, there was no programming between 11 P.M. in the evening and 6 A.M. the next morning. Insomniacs must have had a difficult time in that environment.

Advances in TV technology have dramatically changed the way people enjoy TV in their own homes. It has been a very long time since people had to look at test patterns in the middle of the night; almost as long a time since they stopped watching programs in black and white, not color. And, it has now been many, many years, since advancing technology led to the advent of cable networks and almost unlimited programming options for all TV viewers.

So today it is no longer necessary for people to try to find suitable programming from a tiny menu of six or seven TV stations. Instead, people who subscribe to Dish Network or Satellite TV (Direct TV and Cable TV, too) normally have access to 200 stations, sometimes 250 stations or more, frequently lots more.

Now, when people arrive home after a day at work, they turn on their giant flat screen TVs, pick up their remote control devices and start channel surfing to see how many shows are available that are of interest to them. Think about how this works: if you dont like the news program running on the CBS network or ABC or NBC, try the news program on Fox Cable or MSNBC or CNN. Not interested in news? The Food Network may have a battle raging between Iron Chefs or TV Land may be running a funny old sitcom. Perhaps there are some live sports programming taking place a challenging quiz show or a compelling documentary retelling the story of WWII.

The point is this: if you subscribe to Satellite TV (or even to Direct TV or Cable TV), you probably cant get bored when you sit down in front of your television. There are just too many programming options available, one or more of which will be something you find entertaining.

Its good to be alive and well in the 21st century.
