Saving the environment one baby at a time

Saving the environment one baby at a time

The best way to teach our children to be environmentally conscience is to start them right out in organic baby clothing. All cotton has long been the most practical and easy to care for material for everyone's wardrobe and babies will appreciate the smooth soft feel of pajamas as well as diapers shirts and stockings made from one hundred percent organically grown cotton or bamboo.

Organic means natural and pure

The term organic means natural and manufactured without using any pesticides, dyes, or other chemicals, which never wash out and will linger on the baby's clothing forever. Some of these unhealthy chemicals and additives may well be absorbed into the baby's skin, causing untold damage to their system. Among the most prevalent of the chemicals used for production and fabrication of clothing today are cyanazine, naled, trifluralin, propargite, and dicofol. They even sound harmful. Buying organically produced fabrics which have then been made into baby clothes just makes good sense. After all, what are all those cases of autism and leukemia actually caused by?

Petroleum based chemicals and pesticides never wash out

When we buy our baby clothes that have been manufactured from material that have had petroleum based chemicals and pesticides sprayed on them the oils never completely wash away. Meaning our baby wears the item of clothing and is subjected to any transference into their tender skin. Imagine bathing them in motor oil instead of pure baby oil? Organically produced clothing is free from impurities and chemicals of every type so baby wears natural materials only. Environmentally friendly organic cotton is found on farms that are certified free of toxins and chemicals that pollute the water as well as our body when we wear items grown on non organic land. Future generations will most likely wonder what were we thinking by adding all those harsh chemicals and dyes along with pumping hormones into our cows, creating an unnaturally polluted milk and cheese to feed our children and ourselves.

Baby clothing made from organic material looks and feels fabulous

One of the softest and most beautiful materials in use today is bamboo. Clothing made from this excellent organically grown material is durable and long lasting. Bamboo can be called the new cotton due to its versatility and long wearing capabilities. If you are concerned about the harmful chemicals found to be used by many clothing manufacturers you can be assured that because bamboo is disease resistant naturally there are no pesticides involved in its growth and because bamboo has natural antibacterial properties it is pure and natural without adding any chemicals. Adults as well will appreciate the incredible softness and natural wicking abilities of bamboo clothing.

Let's try saving the earth by eliminating chemical additives

An estimated eight hundred million pounds of pesticides may be used by farmers this year. And that is poured or sprayed onto our foods and the cotton used to make the clothing we wear. Organic farmers do not use any of those harmful chemical fertilizers or pesticides. While we may not be capable of saving the planet single handed, leading a more earth friendly type of lifestyle will help more than most people realize.
