Before training consume a large sports drink, protein or carbohydrate rich drink.
Think again before guzzling down one of the above. Mostly, these are laden with sugar (glucose), particularly the sports drinks which are commonly referred to as sugar waters'. They may also contain caffeine which can restrict the major vessels leading the heart, and the carbohydrate rich drinks are heavy on the calories. Particularly if you want to lose body fat, by working out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning (or just on an empty stomach) you increase the fat burning potential because the body will use the fat instead for its energy!

Just a glass of milk (low fat) will provide your muscles with all the nutrients needed for recovery.
Take your mobile phone to the gym and answer calls during the workout.
Exercise time is your ME' time! It's a chance you have given to yourself to enhance your body, lose weight, get fit and feel great. It's important to focus on the now and on you; you are the most important asset you will ever have.
Having your workout interrupted by calls will decrease the quality of your workout and the stopstarting will affect your results. Use your exercise time wisely, de-stress and it will give you a chance to unwind psychologically and emotional, helping you to be invigorated and give you renewed mental clarity, you will feel better not being interrupted by your mobile phone.
So go on give yourself a break, leave your mobile in your locker or better still leave it a work, you deserve itafter all isn't that why we have voice mail!

Remember earlier on we talked about just moving more and eating less. Well, this little principle in itself applies to all facets including the equipment on the gym floor. Sitting down all the time is generally what you do when you are in the office if you have that type of job. The last thing you want to be doing when you go to exercise is to be sitting down all the time. Best results are achieved from doing a mixture of exercises, sitting down and also standing and by moving about - being aerobic. Balance and stability exercises for example are best performed while standing, the same applies for lunges and squats which work the lower half. Combinations of machine weights and body weight exercises will not only burn heaps more calories but will improve balance, coordination and stability and again you will achieve better results due to the higher number of muscle groups being activated!
