Compared to college, high schoolstudents don't have to study that hard to get good grades. In high school the work demand and pressure is much less in high school than in college. In addition although getting good grades in high school is important, especially if you want to get in to a good college, getting good grades in college is much more important because college is the final school that trains you for life!

In order to get great grades with the least amount of effort follow these five super tips:

Take notes in class

Taking notes reinforces and etches into your brain what you are learning in class because not only are you hearing it from the teacher the physical act of writing it down more deeply embeds what you have heard into your brain and doubles the chances of retaining and remembering the information. As much as possible instead of writing sentences and text used pictures, illustrations, or diagrams. The old saying a picture is worth a thousand words is so true here. And when it's time to take an exam or quiz it will be much easier for your brain to remember that image and the learnings associated with it.

Create your own study group

by bouncing what you have learned in class off of other students in a group setting with those students will additionally reinforce learning and greatly aid you in getting great grades. Again it's a matter of repetition. You hear what the teacher or professor says. You write it down in class in the form of sentences or images and pictures as discussed in the previous tip. You discuss what was talked about in class with the study group.

Record the class with a tape recorder

this is probably one of the most powerful tips for getting great grades in high school or college. Recording the class in essence allows you to take your teacher with you wherever you go. If you're sitting there waiting for a bus play the tape. If you're waiting in a restaurant for your meal to arrive play the tape again. It's repetition of learning.

Learn to speed read

since a major part of what you learned for your studies in school learning to speed read is one of the best tips for getting great grades. If you can double or triple your reading speed than you can in essence learn two to three times as much in the same period of time. Speed-reading is not difficult at all. Avoid cramming

the concept of cramming is not doing studying through most of the school year and as a quiz or exam gets closer you attempt to make up for your not studying earlier. This puts a lot of pressure on you and is not nearly as effective as using the principle of repetition already mentioned. Instead of cramming for several hours a day a week before the exam spend 20 or 30 minutes every single day and when the exam approaches you'll have the confidence that you already thoroughly know the material inside and out. Overall it is a plan that works and takes the pressure off of you and makes learning in school much easier.

In order to get great grades in school you don't need to work hard it's a matter of repetition and involving as many of your senses as possible, sight, hearing, etc.
