Selecting An Mp3 Player For Your Needs

The MP3 player has made it more capable for use to be able to play more and more

music and in a much smaller package than anything that preceded it like that of the tape deck and more recently the CD player. The MP3 player is something that's very versatile and compact and there are actually some of them that are more than capable of storing thousands of your songs, pictures and sometimes videos. The MP3 player is going to give you so many more options than that of the portable CD player or even the Walkman ever gave you. If you're not sure how to pick out your MP3 player there are some things for you to keep into consideration. Continue reading and let us help you out.

Firstly, you need to figure out and set your budget. The price range for the MP3 players is large. You're able to find something that's just as cheap as purchasing a CD player but you can also find yourself spending hundreds. It's just dependent on what you think you need and what your spendable funds are. The higher the storage capacity the more money you'll spend. Also the brand names will be of more cost than a generic MP3 player.

Keeping that in mind the next thing that you need to consider is the amount of storage that you need your MP3 player to have. The two MP3 player types are the hard drive and the flash memory. The hard drive is built into the hard drive player. This is what allows for the high capacity players. Also there are many moving parts so that means that skipping can happen with the lower quality players. Flash players will have lower capacity but they will also be more compact and will usually be less costly. When it comes to cost the bottom line is the more you want the more it'll cost you. You can find high capacity and still stay in budget. When it comes to fitting your music every song is about 3-4 megabytes and every minute of music is equivalent to a minute of music. So say you go with the 512 megabyte player, which is the lowest capacity player, you'll fit around 140 songs on it and so forth.

Also you need to verify file compatibility of the players you're looking at. You'll of course be able to play MP3s but if you have other file types you should look to see if the player is able to play AAC, WMA and other file types. Additionally, you need to make sure that you know how the player works. There are some that are rechargeable while others have replaceable batteries. There are more that make it so you have to dock your MP3 player through your computer via USB to be able to charge.

Ask yourself what types of situations you're going to be using your player. If you'll be travelling a lot you should make the consideration to getting a more bulky MP3 player as it's likely to go through a lot more abuse than if you'd just be using it at home. If you're going to be using it for exercise it'd be easier for you to use a much smaller flash based player. Go to a store that you'd be able to try before you buy so you can decide whether or not that interface is one that's going to work for you. You'll be using it a lot most likely so you should make sure that the interface you'll be working with is easy for you to be able to navigate, make your playlists, find the songs you want to play, randomize your music and do everything else that you'd want to do with your music.
