Sheryl Crow Tickets 100 Miles from Home, Still Finding Success

She's been caught frolicking around the Bahamas with her three-year-old son Wyatt, but Sheryl Crow is all business this summer as she surfs the crowds rather than the water this year. Promoting 100 Miles from Memphis, the new A&M release is set to appear this July. The new mama worked on her Memphis sound with producers Doyle Bramhall II and Justin Stanley, returning to the stage as the laid-back mama for festival dates and opening Lilith Fair performances. So make an appointment to soak up the sun with Crow this summer with Sheryl Crow tickets from http://www.stubhub.com.

As evident in the premiere video on Crow's website, the "Love is Free" singer is up to something brand new. Revealing her intentions in a hand-written note Crow penned for her fans, she admits that 100 Miles from Memphis is a return to something she created at the start of her career namely Tuesday Night Music Club. "For the past several months I've been making a funky soul based record," she writes. "Not like the great contemporary artists like my friend Mary J. Blige, but hearkening back to my influences of the '60s and early '70s. I feel artistically revitalized and the music feels fresh and at the same time very familiar to what I do." As she continues, Crow fans are sure to see more of the album that makes reference to Crow's hometown of Kennett, Mo. and one of America's iconic music cities - Memphis, Tenn.

With her roots based in Memphis artists like Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and others, it isn't shocking that Crow has taken such a direction in her eighth studio album. Besides premiering a new, homegrown sound from the Grammy Award-winning artist, 100 Miles also premieres a new band. Bassist Tommy Simms, guitarist Chris Bruce, drummers Victor Indrizzo and Homer Steinweiss and keyboardist Jeff Babko joined Crow during her recording sessions in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville this past year and will eventually join her on tour during her solo sessions.

Though personal hardships have clearly left her dismayed by life, Crow's sunny disposition has always remained a constant in her music. Performing since the '90s with the 1993 premiere of Tuesday Night Music Club, Crow's Grammy Award winning hits came in the catchy pop licks that all contemporary rock fans could sing along to from "All I Wanna Do," "If It Makes You Happy," "Sweet Child O' Mine," and "Steve McQueen," Crow knows how to uplift the audience.

Apart from making some of the most iconic pop music of the '90s, Crow has collaborated with some of the industry's best from Sting to Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder and Don Henley, all of which happened before she even released her debut album. Since gaining mainstream fame with her second album, Crow showed the music industry that she was just as capable as the boys. With hits in the sophomore set like "If It Makes You Happy," "Everyday is a Winding Road" and "A Change Would Do You Good," Crow determined her rudimentary success in her debut wasn't just a fluke.
