Perhaps the best-known hill station of India, Shimla is the crown of Indian tourism industry as thousands of tourist from around the world visit this spectacular hill top situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India every year. The extravagant greenery and scenic charm of nature appeals the tourist to make it their dream destination. In addition the favorable weather of Shimla acts like an icing on the cake. The hill station is very well placed on the slopes of lower Himalayas naming it a perfect tourist place.

On the other hand, winters are bone chilling cold and heavy woolen wears are needed. The place is covered with white blanket of snow in the months of December, January and February. Shimla also witnesses snow fall in these months. The maximum temperature during winters remains between 8 -10 degree Celsius while most of the time mercury falls below freezing point. The nights are extremely cold which makes it impossible to go out.
