Shopping Around For The Cutest Boys Christening Clothes

A while ago I found myself wandering around the town centre looking for a baptism gown for a friends child

. This was not something which I was qualified to do as I had no children and had never shopped for childrens clothes, let alone shopped for boys christening gown or a boys christening outfit before this.

The reason I found myself on the lookout for boys christening clothes was that the friend who was having her child christened had just managed to fall down and fracture an ankle, leading to six weeks of pain and inconvenience. The additional problem was that the christening had all been arranged and paid for and there were people flying in from abroad, especially to attend the occasion. Keeping this in mind, it was not possible to cancel or postpone the christening.

Since I was not only the best friend of the mother, but also the godmother of the child, I was put in charge of all the remaining details which needed to be sorted out. The first and foremost was the finding and purchasing of the boys christening outfits, both for the actual ceremony and for the child to change into after the baptism.

There is a large variety of boys christening gowns on the market and it can be difficult to select just one, especially for someone who has never bought kids clothes before. The good thing was that the friend I was shopping for had a very good idea of exactly what it was that she wanted and she armed me exact instructions as to the fabric and the style which she wanted. This made the shopping trip a little easier and the good thing was that the sales assistants in all the stores I went into were very friendly and helpful and made the whole experience a lot more pleasant than I thought it would be.

I have to admit that all the boys christening clothes which I saw were very cute and each one seemed to be nicer than the last one. I had been told that I needed to find something which was made of satin, but not too frilly and lacy. The colour needed to be an ivory shade, as opposed to the white which is a more common choice, and even in white, there are slightly different shades, depending on the fabric chosen, and the way that the white can have a slight hint of pink, blue or yellow.

I found that I actually enjoyed shopping around for the boys christening outfit a lot more than I had thought I would and I am happy to say that the friend was very happy with the final choice when I showed her, and the little boy looked absolutely gorgeous in the baptism gown. The added bonus was that he behaved as angelically as he looked and the christening went ahead as planned; well accept for the mother of the child having to move around on crutches, or a wheelchair!
