Should Personal Branding Include Teeth Whitening?

. If someone were to search on your name, what comes up on the first page of the search engine? If nothing about you shows up, you really need to build your personal brand, and if things about you do come up, you probably want to enhance what those things are. Because one of the things you should include in your online profile is a current photograph, teeth whitening can become an important part of improving your personal brand.

If you haven't thought much about including a photograph of yourself in an online profile you really should. One reason is that if you do contacting at business conferences, people you meet are most likely to remember your name and your face, but if they search on your name and there are several different people that come up with the same name, without a picture they cannot be sure which one is you. Having a professional picture of yourself is an excellent way to be sure they will click on your name and connect with you. However, if your teeth are not as white as they should be, you should consider teeth whitening prior to having the picture taken.

Although people should not really care what others look like, in the professional world, people are expected to look professional. If your teeth have become discolored for any reason, such as excess fluoride in the drinking water as you grew up or because you drink coffee or smoke, then it is absolutely imperative that you follow a course of teeth whitening. A bright smile imparts a more confident look to a person's face, and since that is what people will remember about you, you want your face to show you off well.

As you work on your personal branding, remember that including your full name and a link for people to contact you is important. You don't have to show the email address, but you do want people to be able to contact you once they can establish that you are the right person by your name and photograph. Including a detailed history is also important for recognition. Be sure to include a brief bio in addition to the history that really gets people thinking. Remember to link to all of the places that people can find you, such as social media sites as well as your business site.
