Many people struggle to pee in public because they are worried about other people
listening to them and about the awkward silence in the restroom when others are around. If you walk into a restroom whilst plugged into your MP3 player you will not become aware of any atmosphere in the room and will also not be disturbed if someone walks in mid flow.
