Don't rush to the tape to clean your tie, your best bet will be to use a clean cotton cloth preferably a white one and alcohol as you water. Moist the cloth with alcohol and tap the stain, that should do the trick without costing you much.

Wrinkles are also bad news to your quality necktie, so do avoid them at all cost. The best way will be to make it appoint to not leave your tie tied after using it, untie it and hang it or maybe you can even roll it, that should keep it safe from stains.

A necktie should be tied in a way that it ends somewhere near your waist if not exactly there. Ties do send a message just like your full outfit. Make it appoint that you get the right sized tie, not too long and not too short, that a never do with a necktie.
