Simple Brochure Printing Tips

The design of a brochure may seem easy at first

, but there are many considerations to keep in mind. A few small things can mean the difference between appearring like an authority or a professional. Here are some simple tips for you to make this process easier to understand.

Think about your audience - The brochures that people prefer are those that are useful. Makes sense, right? They are useful because the brochure answers some important questions without further research needed on their part.

Think about the questions that a potential new client will ask about products and services and give them the answers. If you own a business, it is almost certain to answer the same questions over and over again. Take the following questions and put the answers in a bullet format or explore each in a different section. This allows the reader the motivation to continue playing and eventually pick up the phone and call.

Create visual interest - Create a convincing cover that entices the reader to open the doors and keep reading. Put your Unique Selling Proposition right ahead. Just to have a logo or a very close-up of certain products subject unidentifiable does not help the reader. attract them inside with a good product photo or a promise of valuable information.


Effective use of descriptions - Describe the characteristics, attributes and benefits of each product or service. Do not say what it is, but say what it does and why it is special. The potential customer has a question in my mind - they need answers or solutions for it. Do not describe your product model numbers or technical terms - if you go into detail too much the reader thinks they have picked up a textbook, not a brochure.


Include something they want to keep - Depending on what you sell, there are many opportunities to include information in the brochure that the customer may keep for later (and therefore save your brochure). A checklist on preparing a home for your floors, a guide to feeling young to go with your spa products, a map of the surrounding area near your resort, ideas for a craft project using your products or a list of online resources for more information (including your Web site!) are good options. Good brochures are kept and perhaps even shared. Bad ones end up in the garbage can. After all that effort and expense, yours would look much better in their library or filing cabinet than the "circular file".

Do not get caught up in all the bells and whistles - The best brochure should not be the one with the most colors, surfaces, or the most imaginative form cut. Keep it simple and attractive. A couple of nice pictures and a few choice words can go a long way. Nobody really needs star bursts, and bright colors during the sales pitch. You can't really judge a book or a brochure by its cover. Content is still king.
