Simple,tasty And Exotic Salsa Recipes

Salsa simple to make and it's great for just about any occasion

. With these simple recipes in hand you will always be ready for a party. Learn how to make healthy salsas that are not only tastier than store bought salsas but they are also a lot cheaper than any store bough salsas. And what is even better is that you probably already have most of the ingredients in your refrigerator that you need to get started.

Salsas are naturally healthy and they add heaps of flavor to any dish. Salsas are also a great vegetarian option.

What do you need to make a great salsa? You just need some fresh vegetables or fruit and some chiles and some imagination.

Let's get started with a Classic Mexican Table Salsa

You will need tomatoes, onions, cilantro, serrano or jalapeno chiles, limes and 15 minutes of your time. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

* 4 Roma tomatoes chopped

* 1 Small onion chopped

* 4 sprigs of cilantro

* 2 serrano or jalapeno chiles

* 2 cloves of garlic - optional

* Juice of 2 limes

* Salt to taste

Put all of the ingredients in the blender and pulse just until all of the ingredients have blended. Don't overblend because you want the salsa to have some texture. Serve with chips or use it to season beef tacos.

Next Try a More Exotic Combination

You can try a more exotic flavor combination with a pineapple mango salsa that works really well on chicken. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

* 2 cups chopped pineapple

* 1 cup chopped mango

* 4 sprigs of cilantro

* 2 serrano or jalapeno chiles

* Juice of 2 limes

Put all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until completely smooth.

Grilling the ingredients of both of these salsas before you blend them creates totally different tastes. The salsas take on a more complex smokey flavor whereas the salsas made from fresh uncooked ingredients are lighter and brighter in taste.

Use your imagination when creating your salsas. Take what you have on hand and make creations that will match the dishes you are serving.

Three Components of a Great Salsa

Make sure that your salsa has the three necessary components and you salsa will turn out great every time.

1. The dominant flavors: Tomatoes or pineapple in the sample salsa recipes are the dominant flavors. You can use any vegetable, fruit, or combination of the two that you think will work. It's fun to experiment.

2. Heat: Chiles - Serrano chiles or jalapenos in the sample recipes provide the heat. You can use any chile that you like. Most supermarkets have a great selection of chiles these days.

3. Acidity: Lime juice, lemon juice, other citrus, or a vinegar.

There you have it. Salsa making is simple and inexpensive and with just a little practice you will be able to make your salsa the center piece to any meal.
